In August 2018, Pleasant Hill Historians was founded as a way of connecting individuals with their families through the passion of genealogy and preservation.

The name, Pleasant Hill, derives from the great-great grandfather’s farmstead of the Founder and President. “Pleasant Hill Farm” operated as the home of the Henley Family, of whom originated in Herefordshire, England. The family immigrated to America in 1841 when Matthew & Elizabeth Henley made a life-changing decision to bring their family new possibilities in a new country. Dying shortly thereafter in 1846, Matthew, with the help of his wife, instilled a passion of entrepreneurship within their children and grandchildren, alike, forming their own companies to support the community.

Family and the community have always been a central role for us and we want to assist others with finding their niche in this busy DNA-testing, family-searching, old-photo-scouring world. By dedicating time to the mission of local history, we has been able to assist institutions, such as the Lawrence County Historical Society and others similar through their missions. Together, we are able to find out how similar we all are and what composes us, both genetically and habitually.

Today, we want to bring forth that sense of communal support through connecting families across the globe through genealogy and preservation. It is the goal of Pleasant Hill Historians to go headstrong with this mission and offer great opportunities for our clients.
